The Lille striker is enjoying rave reviews from critics, fans, and pundits following his man of the match performance in Super Eagles win over Lesotho.
However, a former teammate, Odion Ighalo has warned him not to get carried away with the praises, although he admitted the 20-year-old has what it takes to lead the line for the Super Eagles.
Ighalo who retired from Super Eagles duty after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations revealed that Osimhen has a big potential, but he needs to keep his head on the ground and work hard.
“I always told Osimhen that he has everything it takes to lead [Nigeria's] attack, but it all depends on him. “He has to keep working hard, stay humble, always be ready to learn & above all not to get carried away with success or hype but just to keep improving."
Ighalo scored 16 goals in 35 appearances for Nigeria including the five goals that won him the Golden Boot at the 2019 Africa Cup Of Nations in Egypt.
